RAP king Coolio will transform the Kasbah club into a Gangsta’s Paradise later this month.
The star – best known for his Stevie Wonder sampling smash hit – will headline the Coventry club on March 23.
It follows hard on the heels of a hugely successful show by Grandmaster Flash at the venue in Primrose Hill last month.
Coolio hit his commercial peak in the mid 1990s but has continued to release new albums during the last decade (his latest From The Bottom 2 The Top arriving in 2009).
Club bosses said fans can expect to see all his hits – presumably including the fantastic tracks C U When U Get There, Ooh La La and 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New).
However, it remains to be seen whether he will reel out his theme tune to the children’s comedy show Keenan and Kel.
After the show Coolio will hold a meet and greet with fans.
Thanos Staikos, promotions manager at the Kasbah, said he booked Coolio1 after countless rapper requests from customers.
He said: “We are delighted to be bringing another Grammy award-winner to the Kasbah.
“In fact, the reason we have got Coolio coming to perform here is due to the feedback from our Grandmaster Flash show in February.
“It was a huge night and I have been inundated with requests to bring more old-school hip-hop to the Kasbah ever since, so that is what we have done!”
This show is for over-18s only.
Tickets cost just 5 and include entry to the Tricky Disco clubnight afterwards.
